Legacy

William Franklin Haley was a preacher. He was an evangelist. He was a father, a husband, a grandfather. He was my great-grandfather. My mother's grandfather. He left a legacy. I never met him, but I certaintly am a part of his legacy. This picture was taken prior to 1920. W.F. Haley is holding a Bible. His wife, and some but not all of his children, (not all of them were born yet) are with him. When I preach I generally keep one of his original bibles in the pulpit. Thanks to a generous man that bible is now being refurbished and is getting a makeover. As I pastor my first church and preach in the pulpit I hope to live up to W.F. Haley's legacy. The "H" in my middle name is in honor of my mom's side of the family. I have big shoes to fill.
