Sallie Mae Calling

Sallie Mae, one of the largest lenders in the student loan market has been harassing me lately. I am working on my Masters degree and have taken out private loans to help finance my education. Some of my loans were through Sallie Mae and others were through CITI. Both companies are hurting financially and both need to collect some money so they can put it on the Profit and Loss statements under the Asset category. Well since I am still in school technically my loans should be in deferment. CITI recognizes I am still in school and has agreed to put my loans in deferment. Sallie Mae on the other hand doesn't recognize the number of hours I am taking (again CITI does) and refuses to put my loans in deferment. After spending months getting paperwork from my school to forward to both CITI and Sallie Mae and in the meantime being harassed about once a week for payment and having to explain once again I am still in school only to be told they need proof, which I explained I was getting. Then I am told by Sallie Mae I am not taking enough hours and my loan payment is now overdue. No kidding. The harassing phone calls have been coming to my cell phone which the minutes are not free. I have told them on numerous occasions to call me at home or at my office. I have been told I have to send a check or pay by credit card immediately. Really? Or what? Are you threatening me? If this continues I will post audio clips of the phone calls for your listening entertainment. If you or someone you know is in school and needs loans by all means avoid Sallie Mae unless you enjoy being harassed. If you think I am the only one think again, Read This and This Too This one is really good, oh And This One Too. By the way aren't you thankful for freedom of expression and for the right to express your dissatisfaction about a product or service? Thank a Veteran for this freedom!
