Government is not the answer

So the news today is that CITI is going to restructure and sell off parts of their business just to stay afloat. They aren't even sure that CITI is going to survive. This is after our federal government "bailed" them out. Our Congress agreed to give CITI millions just last October and November. Now 60 days later we hear it didn't work. Word on the streets is the $700 Billion bailout didn't work either. The economy is falling, the mortgage companies and banks are not loaning money as they promised they would. It will probably be announced in the next few weeks that the $17 billion Auto bailout didn't work either. This reminds me of how people seek solutions in all the wrong places. People look for love in all the wrong places. People expecting the government to fix their problems are going to be disappointed. Government is not the answer, in fact it is often the problem! We are in the financial position we are in today because of greed. The desire to want more than we can afford. The fascination of spending more than we have. The answer is not self-help books, New Years Resolutions, the Congress, or a new President. The answer is we need to turn away from our selfish desires, greed, me-obsessed culture. Turn to Jesus Christ. He is the ANSWER!
