Today's Devotion

I recently bought a new Daily Devotional Bible. I have really enjoyed the devotionals and today's was profound. The title was "Far & Near". It addressed the concepts of God being imminent and transcendent. Let's define those terms. God is intimately involved in his Creation- he personally cares for you and loves you. This refers to His Imminence. God is also radically different from us. He is Holy, All-Powerful, All-Knowing and All-Present. This refers to His Transcendence. The way we view God will determine how we worship Him. God is both imminent and transcendent. So He is both far and near. We need to keep those views in a healthy balance.
