A Downpour from the Lord

What our churches need and what our communities need the most is a Downpour from the Lord. At our church we are going through a sermon series called Downpour, based on the book and bible study by Pastor James MacDonald. Last week we talked about how periods of drought make us appreciate the rain. Do you hunger for the Lord? Do you thirst for Him? Today we talked about how a right view of God would lead to revival. God is on His Throne. He is HOLY,HOLY,HOLY. We must recognize Him as holy. In our day and time we have focused less on God as holy and more on his grace, his love, etc. Holiness is the essence of His character. So we must start there. Isaiah chapter six has God seated on his throne. And the seraphim cry out, HOLY HOLY HOLY. Isaiah recognizes in that moment that God is holy and that he is not. The starting point for revival is for us to recognize God as holy and ourselves as sinners. Isaiah said, "Woe is me I am undone." You are incomplete without Christ. So come to Him and He will come to us like the rain. Get ready for His Downpour.
