My Trip to Mexico

Jessie Colston and I went to Mexico this past week on a mission trip. We went to the state of Sonora, Mexico. We met with our hosts, IMB missionaries Alan and Donna Brown in Hermosillo. Two Mexican pastors, Enrique and Gerardo joined our team. From there we went to the small village of San Pedro de la Cueva. According to past census and surveys there were no professing Christians. We spent two and a half days prayer walking. Going door-to-door. Passing out evangelism tracts. What a blessing it was to be a small part of bringing the gospel message to a village. We become so accustomed to Christianity and churches in the States, that we forget there are whole countries and people groups that have yet to hear. This picture shows our team giving the first Bible in the village. The woman in the picture prayed to receive Christ and her two teenage daughters did the same. Every other Monday Enrique and Alan Brown will travel back to the village and work on starting home bible studies. The long-term goal is to plant a church there. Imagine being a believer in a town with no one to fellowship with. No church to go to. We pray that God would change that. I felt like a got just a small taste of what it was like in the early church in the 1st century. What an experience!
