Swimming with sharks

Do you ever feel like there is a shark right behind you? Do you sometimes feel like the guy in the kayak? You have a few options: Paddle fast; just sit still and see what the shark does. I don't know about you, but if that were me in the kayak I would be paddling so fast that little kayak would create a wake. I am not going to sit and wait for the shark to do something. I am going to be proactive. Obviously the chances of you having to make that decision are slim. But perhaps you have been chased by stress, an addiction or whatever your "shark" may be. Here is some biblical advice, "11 Now you, man of God, run from these things; but pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight for the faith; take hold of eternal life, to which you were called and have made a good confession before many witnesses."1 Timothy 6:11-12 (HCSB) Often times we put ourselves in shark infested waters and then wonder why we are being attacked. We need to avoid dangerous waters. But if we happen to find ourselves being chased, the wisest thing to do is flee. Don't pick a fight that you can not win. Don't even pick a fight you think you will win. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 (NASB) I don't plan on swimming with sharks anytime soon, but if I do happen to see a shark don't count on me to stick around for the Kodak Moment.
