Blessing or Curse

Isn't it amazing how our perspective changes the way we view things? I am reading a book by Leonard Sweet called, "The Gospel According to Starbucks". Chapter two points out that the Hebrew word for hell is Sheol and one of the Hebrew words for heaven is Shiloh. Sweet points out how God can turn any Sheol into Shiloh. The author points out how in most cultures and throughout history spitting on someone is seen as the ultimate insult. Even Numbers 12:14 says it is the ultimate curse. Yet Jesus spit, took some dirt and rubbed it into a blind man's eyes. That man was healed. Over and over again in the bible and throughout history, God turns cursing into curing. The bible says that cursed is he who hangs on the tree, Galatians 3:13. Jesus hung on a tree. Jesus on the cross brought about the miraculous act of forgiveness and redemption. So change your perspective next time you experience a difficulty. See the cure in the curse. See the blessing in the battle. See God working in your life.
