Deep Thoughts from a 4 year old

My four year old son Hayden is a lot like his daddy. He often has profound thoughts. They often times come out of the blue. The other day he was riding in my truck coming from swimming lessons and he said, "Daddy do you know who President Bush is married to?" I asked him who. "He is married to his wife!" Now that is deep. Actually it is pretty remarkable in our culture that a four year old knows that marriage is between a man and a woman. Maybe Hayden needs to talk to some people in the media. Then last week Hayden tells me, "I need to talk to my friends about Jesus so they won't go to hell!" Some of you might think that is a little harsh. But it is the absolute truth. If more of us had that same attitude perhaps we would reach more people. But instead we make excuses like, "They are good people." "I don't want to offend anyone." So lame. I am going to follow the wisdom of a four year old. Maybe we all could learn something from children!
