Mission Mexico

Our church group has been in Mexico for four days. We have been exposed to an entirely different culture. Some of our preconceived views were correct, some were wrong. The area we are in is very poverty stricken. Yet people have clothes and are not going hungry from food. They have an organized school system. They have some city services such as running water, sewage, garbage collection. Compared to some third world countries, Mexico is not that bad off. But poverty is relative. The sad thing is Mexico has the 10th largest economy in the world. Yet over 75% of the population lives in deplorable conditions. Because of corrupt politicians the money is misused and wasted. What Mexico needs the most is a relationship with Jesus Christ. What is missing the most is people who are obedient to the Lord. Alcohol, drugs, crime, and immorality run rampant. Let me remind you I am writing about Mexico not the United States. We could be headed in the same direction. The same thing that can change Mexico can change the U.S....PRAYER!
